Getting from Zanzibar Airport (ZNZ) to Nungwi

Nungwi is 58 km north of ZNZ Airport. The drive takes 60–75 minutes on the main north highway, depending on Stone Town bypass traffic.

Step 1 — Pre-Book Your Transfer

Booking before you land removes the airport taxi haggle and locks in a fixed price. A private Alphard transfer is $45 per vehicle — covers up to 5 passengers with full luggage.

Step 2 — On Arrival at ZNZ

After immigration and baggage claim, walk through customs into arrivals. Your driver will be standing in the front row with a name board. Give them a wave and they'll take your luggage to the vehicle.

Step 3 — The Drive North

The route follows the main highway through Mahonda, then turns west towards Nungwi village. Roads are fully paved with only the last 2 km into the resort area on packed sand.
